One-time events

Elite Swiss figure skating championships   on 7 and 8 December in Biel/Bienne’s Tissot Arena:

The best of the best will be competing, including Alexia Paganini, currently one of the top names in the sport – she is the Swiss champion and took part in the 2018 Olympic Games in South Korea. Participants in the Swiss championships are vying to qualify for the European and World championships. Entrants will compete in the elite women’s, men’s and pair figure skating classes, plus the elite, junior, up-and-coming, youth and mini ice dance classes. A Swiss synchronised skating cup will also take place. Admission is free.

Robert Walser Sculpture Swiss Sculpture Exhibition from 15 June until 8 September 2019 on the square next to Biel/Bienne’s rail station:

As part of his 'presence and production project', Thomas Hirschhorn was present every day at the Robert Walser Sculpture project on the square next to the rail station. He was supported by 200 citizens of Biel/Bienne who engaged in a dialogue with the artist concerning the life and work of writer Robert Walser. Associations, institutions, artists, writers and people from all sections of society took part.

Between ten in the morning and ten in the evening from 15 June through until 8 September 2019, myriad events took place enabling visitors to see Robert Walser in a fresh light.

Davis Cup- and/or Fed Cup matches involving the Swiss national tennis teams
